Succulent

La Mia Favorita Croco (aka Kalanchoe)

  • Location:

You can find me living wild in Madagascar and tropical Africa.
  • Looks:

I am a tropical succulent with bright green flowers and impressive cupped leaves.
  • Height:

I am 30cm high in my pot with a spread of 23cm
  • Environment:

I love a sunny position, don't let me get too cold, and water me when my soil dries out.
  • Flowers:

I have been especially bred to have extended sepals, which gives me my special looks and a longer flowering period.
  • Grooming:

Keep an eye on my leaves for water stress, they will turn bright red at the tips if too humid.
  • Life Span:

I have a slow growth rate and can live a long time. In the wild I produce babies and spread, but if you remove my plantlets when they appear and re-pot, I will continue to delight you.
  • Feeding:

Give me an organic fertiliser for a treat, and remember to let my soil dry before re-watering.
  • Fact:

I am known as a 'short day' plant. When daylight hours reduce I put on my best floral displays. Make sure I am in darkness for at least 12 hours a day.
