House Plant

Bengal Fig (aka Ficus benghalensis Audrey)

  • Location:

I originate in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan.
  • Looks:

I have large, thick, oval shaped, leathery leaves, with prominent, pale pink-green veins that stand out against my leaves.
  • Height:

In the wild I can grow to 30 meters tall, but I am much more manageable in a pot. You can prune me to the height you want.
  • Environment:

I like bright , indirect light, but I can tolerate some shade. Direct sunshine may burn my leaves.
  • Flowers:

    I am a foliage plant.
  • Grooming:

Prune me but be aware I have an irritant sap!
  • Life Span:

I am a long living vigorous plant.
  • Feeding:

Allow me to dry out completely before saturating me again. Make sure I have good drainage, you can put stones at the bottom of the ceramic pot so the plastic pot has drainage space around it.
  • Fact:

I am an air purifying plant and can filter airborne toxins.
