Perennial

Bromeliad 'Del Mar' (aka Aechmea 'Del Mar')

  • Location:

I am a new hybrid, but my parents are from Brazil
  • Looks:

My foliage is lush and green, but the real spectacle is my central flower spike, in vivid pink and blue
  • Height:

30-40cm high and about 20cm across
  • Environment:

I prefer filtered light, so away from the window please. Try and keep me as warm as possible too!
  • Flowers:

My flower spikes last a long time, as they are waxy. Expect them during Summer, as well as other times
  • Grooming:

I generally stay in good condition, just snap off my flower stem once it fades
  • Life Span:

I can last for many years with the right care
  • Feeding:

Water me through my central crown, and make sure I'm topped up at all times. Stand me on a tray of pebbles too, to keep my humidity up
  • Fact:

In the wild I grow on trees, this is known as epiphytic, you know!
