House Plant

Calathea 'Network' (aka Marantaceae)

  • Location:

I am native to the tropical rainforests of South America
  • Looks:

I have beautifully decorative leaves that look like a remarkable mosaic of green and yellow
  • Height:

Grown at home I will usually grow to around 40-50cm with a similar spread
  • Environment:

Coming from the tropics means I like humidity, also as I am most commonly found growing underneath trees in my usual habitat i like partial shade. Direct sunlight may burn my leaves. Keep me moist
  • Flowers:

I don't have flowers but who needs them with my highly decorative leaves
  • Grooming:

I need very little, just take off any leaves that may get damaged
  • Life Span:

I will last a long time and with the proper care will keep producing new foliage
  • Feeding:

Keep me moist but don't leave me sitting in water, or I will get root rot
  • Fact:

I am a new addition to the Calathea family. Florists often use my leaves for decorative foliage. My foliage can last up to 5 weeks in a vase!
