House Plant

Elephant Ear (aka Alocasia Lauterbachiana)

  • Location:

I am originally from the tropical rainforests of South East Asia and I am especially common in Borneo
  • Looks:

I have dark green lance shaped upright leaves with a purple under belly and scalloped edges
  • Height:

I can grow up to 4m tall in the wild
  • Environment:

I like a position with lots of indirect sunlight
  • Flowers:

    I don't have flowers
  • Grooming:

I need little grooming, feel free to pick off any yellowing leaves at the bottom
  • Life Span:

I can last a really long time, if looked after properly. Plant me up each year into a bigger pot to see me grow
  • Feeding:

Water me frequently as I like to be moist, but don't let me stand in water
  • Fact:

This vintage looking plant is though to have conquered the living room in the 1950's
