House Plant

Monkey Mask (aka Monstera adansonii )

  • Location:

I am widespread across much of South America and Central America.
  • Looks:

I have a gnarly look with variagated, mask shaped leaves which are full of holes. New leaves sometime grow through the holes in the old leaves.
  • Height:

I think the sky is the limit on spread and height, I have been known to reach 30ft
  • Environment:

I like bright indirect light. Sunlight will burn my leaves.
  • Flowers:

I am admired for my foliage.
  • Grooming:

Pruning will not really tame me, and the best solution is to give me some kind of support, either a moss pole or an indoor feature.
  • Life Span:

I am a vigorous easy care plant and should last a lifetime.
  • Feeding:

I must be kept moist at all times. But please do not let me sit in water.
  • Fact:

    I am poisonous to pets.
