Succulent

Mother-in-Law's Tongue (aka Sansevieria)

  • Location:

    I originate in Africa.
  • Looks:

I am an clump forming, evergreen succulent. I have blade-like leathery leaves and come with a variety of unusual markings.
  • Height:

Some of my relations can grow to 1m or more, others stay more compact.
  • Environment:

I like full sun or partial shade, and am generally considered fail safe in most conditions. I like a well draining, sandy soil. Do not let me sit in water.
  • Flowers:

My flowers are rare but I may surprise you one day. Flowers are generally produced on a stalk, which can be 3ft long, with lots of buds.
  • Grooming:

I will not need much grooming. Keep me dust free with a damp cloth to benefit from my air purifying skills.
  • Life Span:

I am generally slow growing and should live a long time.
  • Feeding:

I am happier if slightly neglected rather than overwatered and fed.
  • Fact:

I am a talented air purifying plant and can remove at least 107 known air pollutants, including carbon monoxide and nitrogen monoxide.
