House Plant

Porcelain/Wax Flower Plant (aka Hoya carnosa 'Tricolor')

  • Location:

I am native to tropical Asia
  • Looks:

I trail my pretty tri-coloured leaves, and grow hyper-real waxy flowers.
  • Height:

I can grow to 6M spread.
  • Environment:

Keep me in extremely bright, indirect light but not directly in the sun.
  • Flowers:

Flowers are my thing, but I can be temperamental until established. I flower best in humid conditions, but please do not mist me when my flowers are budding or in bloom.
  • Grooming:

I do not respond well to hard pruning.
  • Life Span:

I can live a long time in the right conditions.
  • Feeding:

I like a free draining soil otherwise I can get root rot. Fertilise me with a weak solution to encourage flowering.
  • Fact:

I go semi-dormant from October to February so only need occasional watering in that period. Don't let my soil get dust dry though.
