House Plant

Rubber Plant (aka Ficus Abidjan)

  • Location:

I am native to east India, Nepal, Bhutan, Burma, China (Yunnan), Malaysia, and Indonesia.
  • Looks:

I have lush grey-green rubbery leaves with a deep red central vein. My new leaves come through as a red spike and darken over time.
  • Height:

I am 40cm in my pot
  • Environment:

I can withstand a certain amount of neglect. Great for low light condition. Keep me out of direct sunlight.
  • Flowers:

    My flowers are insignificant.
  • Grooming:

I can be pruned but beware as my sap is toxic.
  • Life Span:

I can grow quite large in the right conditions.
  • Feeding:

Give me a weak fertiliser feed every couple of weeks during Spring and Summer.
  • Fact:

I absorb toxins so I'm a great plant for improving the environment in both homes and offices.
