Tea Plant (aka Camellia sinensis)

  • Location:

I am native to the southern parts of China, Japan and Korea.
  • Looks:

I am an evergreen shrub, with glossy serrated leaves.
  • Height:

I can grow to 4M high.
  • Environment:

I like moist, acidic soil, in sun or ideally part shade. I like good circulation of air around my leaves.
  • Flowers:

I produce small, white, scented flowers in Autumn.
  • Grooming:

My leaves have a tendency to develop brow edges over winter, this will not affect the new growth.
  • Life Span:

I am a slow growing and long living plant.
  • Feeding:

I like to be kept moist, with good circulation.
  • Fact:

Tea is grown throughout the world and each region's teas have distinct flavour profiles. This is known as terroir.
